About the Role
*This is a Fixed Term Position until 31 December 2025*
Reporting to the Manager Disaster Recovery Funding Assessment, this role will coordinate with the Delivery Agencies (Local Government) to assess claims submitted by Local Governments after a declared disaster. The role performs data anaysis in relation to claims assessments and grenerating reports as required. The incumbent will also be required to provide general awareness training regarding DRFA guidelines.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
Negotiate with and influence key decision and options with stakeholders in relation to legislative responsibilities for the coordination of claim assessment for the DRFA Administering Authority (Department of Justice and Community Safety) while ensuring that policies, procedures, systems and standards are adhered to.
Coordinate with key stakeholders and successfully undertake claims assessment activities on behalf of DRFA Administering Authority.
Exercise professional independent judgement in the cost analysis related to the recovery works for road and bridge projects that have been affected by declared disasters under general functional supervision.
Monitor the Local Government’s submission of financial reporting and use these reports for the early identification of project and program risks.
Liaise closely with Municipalities in assigned area and provide general awareness training of the DRFA guidelines and submission of Claims under the DRFA by Municipalities.
Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.
