The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a Statewide service offered from Royal North Shore Hospital. The Discharge Coordinator's role is instrumental in ensuring babies are cared for as close to home as possible. In collaboration with the MDT this role coordinators all aspects of discharging babies or transferring back to local services. This includes communicating with families, local services and NETS back transfer to ensure safe and timely patient flow. The role also has a strong education focus for families regarding caring for babies at home as well as clinical follow up. This position is being offered as a temporary role until the end June to cover long service leave prior to retirement. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team and help redesign the role.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
- A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
