Responsibilities:
Dispensing Medications:
- Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations related to dispensing.
Patient Counseling:
- Provide clear and concise information to patients regarding proper medication usage, potential side effects, and any other relevant information.
- Answer patient inquiries and address concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Compounding:
- Prepare compounded medications as per physician prescriptions and in compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized compounding area, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Perform regular checks for expired medications and assist in the organization of stock rotations.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Quality Assurance:
- Adhere to quality control processes, ensuring accuracy and precision in all dispensing and compounding activities.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.
Qualifications:
- Preferred - Certificate III in Community Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
- Preferred - Previous experience as a Dispensary Technician in a community pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of compounding practices and techniques.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
