About the role
The Disputes & Chargebacks Officer is responsible for managing payment related disputes that are raised against our merchants. This entails facilitating research, resolution, and handling of payment related dispute claims. This role reports to the Chargebacks Team Leader within the Payments Risk team.
What you'll do- Manage chargebacks and disputes originating from merchant acquiring card payment transactions, whilst adhering to card schemes frameworks and internal procedures.
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers, internal colleagues, and card issuers/card schemes as required (Including attending to emails and phone calls as needed).
- Support other, non-chargeback related activities on behalf of the broader Risk Management team as required and following appropriate cross-skilling
- Uphold and contribute to Tyro’s strong risk culture by complying with our policies, completing mandatory training and identifying and managing risks within your day-to-day work
- A sound understanding of the mechanics of card payments.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in acquiring, or an ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of the acquiring context if experience is less than one year. Experience in managing merchant chargebacks would be advantageous.
- A sound understanding of the mechanics of card payments.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and an ability to embrace internal and external systems associated with merchant acquiring and chargebacks management.
- Excellent verbal communication
- Organised and able to meet deadlines.
- Experience with card scheme chargeback portals would be advantageous.
