We're searching for Coxswains/Dive Instructors/Tour Guides to create unforgettable experiences for our guests, both in the water and on land.
We are seeking a dual qualified Coxswain/ Dive Instructor /Tour Guide with previous experience in water based and land activities. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of water safety protocols including operating commercial vessels, snorkeling and scuba diving.
Reporting to the Guest Activities Manager, this position plays a pivotal role in providing Guest Experiences when on island. The resort has a combination of overnight resort guests and day guests.
Skills/Qualifications required:
- Coxswain (desirable)
- PADI Dive Instructor (desirable)
- Own Dive Insurance
- Dive Medical Clearance
- O2 certification
- First Aid & CPR
- Manual Drivers Licence
- Degree in Marine Biology is a bonus!
The role of the Coxswain/ Dive Instructor /Guest Activities includes:
- Guest orientations on arrival
- Previous marine experiences: scuba diving, guiding snorkeling, glass bottom boats, kayaks
- Island based tours: bird watching, turtle walks, reef walking, general tours including night activities like bingo, trivia and turtle ranger
- Guest educational presentations and ongoing interactions
- Operations of the on-island dive shop
Live and work on the island for 10 days with 4 days off island, with meals and accommodation provided, you will be housed in our shared staff facilities. This role will be required to fly in and out of Hervey Bay airport.
