Job Description
Embark on an exhilarating journey as a full-time Diversity and Inclusion Advisor! Fuel our commitment to inclusivity by spearheading vibrant initiatives. Be a driving force in cultivating a dynamic and diverse culture at the City of Stonnington!
In this role you will:
- Champion the inception and execution of diversity and inclusion projects, leveraging specialized knowledge and expertise for impactful results.
- Take charge of the design and implementation of Council's groundbreaking Gender Impact Assessment Program, ensuring a strategic and effective approach.
- Craft comprehensive written materials tailored for both internal and external audiences, including senior leadership, to propel the achievement of diversity and inclusion goals to new heights. Your contributions will be instrumental in fostering a culture of equity and inclusion.
- Cultivate robust relationships with internal stakeholders to drive program goals effectively.
- Collaborate across departments for the successful execution of major organizational Diversity & Inclusion events.
- Make a substantial impact on shaping and executing CoS's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and operational plans
- Contribute to the formulation of policies and procedures pertaining to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive approach
This is a hybrid role, which means you can work both from home and within our bright, modern and sustainable 311 Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern, where boutique stores, cafes and health clubs are in abundance. From the office you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street Armadale or Glenferrie Road. Malvern and Armadale Train Station are a short walk away and tram stops are out the front of the building.

Desired Skills and Experience
What you'll need to thrive:
- Profound understanding of diversity and inclusion issues with the capability to apply them effectively in an organizational setting.
- Thorough knowledge and comprehension of the Gender Equality Act (2020) and associated legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in integrating, monitoring, and evaluating the Gender Impact Assessment process within an organizational framework.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills, coupled with the ability to prioritize projects and operate within established timeframes to meet deadlines.
- Advanced conceptual and analytical abilities, enabling effective issue resolution to achieve agreed-upon outcomes. Proficient in identifying and advising on issues and suggesting improvements.
- Degree qualified or equivalent alternate combination of knowledge, training and/or experience relevant to Diversity and Inclusion/ Gender Studies/Social Equity.
