The Sovereign Capability & Supply Chains Division focuses on supporting Australian industries to be sustainable, resilient and help them grow to reach their full potential. We achieve this by growing areas of increasing opportunities for Australian Industries in Supply Chains, major project facilitation and supporting job creating among other things. We work closely with industry stakeholders and state/territory government, to support growth in priority sectors such as batteries, semiconductors, co-investment plans, defence industry, Commonwealth procurement and contribute to the National Reconstruction Fun and the Buy Australian Plan. We have direct regulatory responsibility for the Australian Jobs Act 2013 and the Australian Industry Participation Authority.

Duties in this role include, but are not limited to:
- contribute new ideas and maximise the benefits of change, including the identification of opportunities to improve efficiency of business processes
- draft correspondence using agreed formats and structured guidelines
- coordinate corporate documentation, papers, talking points and other communications
- prepare correspondence, reports and briefs including email and letters on routine and more complex matters
- liaise with internal and external stakeholders and represent the work area
- organise and participate in strategic planning and culture activities to contribute to identified priorities of the division
- undertake research, analysis, integration and evaluation of work and report on findings
- undertake divisional coordination and parliamentary processes.
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Notes
This opportunity is available for an initial period of 12 months with possibility of extension.
A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
The department does currently offer flexible work opportunities for many roles. This vacancy is ACT - Industry House based, although flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered. Please reach out to the contact officer to discuss this further.
