Due to a growth in our program, we are looking for an experienced Case Manager/Group Facilitator. This is an interesting and varied role that involves both case management as well as group facilitation and psychoeducation. A role where you can bring about meaningful change and support for clients.
About the Role
You will work with male perpetrators of intimate partner violence using a multi-faceted approach inclusive of direct one-one intake and assessment and engaging and supporting them through group work. To be successful in this role you will need experience managing similar situations where you have assessed and managed clients with a history of using violence.
The role is responsible for:
- Intake & assessment, case management and supporting men in addressing issues which impact their safety, wellbeing, and their ability to maintain safe, respectful and enriching relationships with their partner/former partner and child/ren
- Co-Facilitation of the accredited psycho-educational Men’s Behaviour Change Program – Choosing Change
Per Principle 4 of the Department of Communities and Justice’s Compliance Requirements for this program, co-facilitation is recommended to improve the safety and accountability of the program facilitators. As per the Men’s Behaviour Change Practice Standards, which recommend the co-facilitation be male and female, therefore we strongly encourage male candidates to apply.
About You
To be a successful candidate you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or equivalent field
- Demonstrated experience and skills in providing case management and group facilitation to individuals - mental health: Alcohol and other drugs, grief and loss counselling, and worked within the Trauma informed practice model
- Demonstrated ability in systemic practice and theory and experience in responding to and intervening in Domestic & Family Violence impact and safety
- Experience in Facilitating (male) Psycho-Educational Groups
- Skills in providing telephone intake and assessment, including experience responding to vulnerable and distressed clients
- Knowledge and experience in responding to the legislative requirements concerning Child Protection, Family Law and Domestic Violence
- Demonstrated ability to appraise and critically reflect on clinical work and participation in clinical supervision
- Excellent ability to actively collaborate, communicate clearly and respond with respect
- Current Work with Children Check
Highly Regarded:
- Completion of or willingness to undertake DV Alert Training or
- ECAV training, DV-706: Skills in Working with maleFamily Violence
- ECAV training, DV-702: Essential skills in Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP)
- Completion of or willingness to undertake Safe and Together Training
