What's on offer?
The 8Homes team is looking for an experienced Drafting Manager who can drive and develop the drafting program, supporting business performance and growth and adequately managing stakeholder's relationships in line with KPIs.
Within this role your responsibilities would include:
- Manage Production Drafting workflow including architectural plans, variations, engineering and final construction plans for scheduled appointments to achieve budget requirements
- Provide expert guidance to drive drafting deliverable and timelines
- Review management reports and liaise with stakeholders and cross-functional departments to assess Production Drafting performance to budget, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Working closely with the Construction function to address site requirements / issues and provide innovative solutions
- Maintain and manage team headcount for the allocation of resources to support workload challenges in accordance with the workforce plan
- Review and quality check drafted architectural plans against Eight Homes and/or Urbanedge Homes quality standards and checklists to meet all buildability requirements
- Ensure architectural plans are completed in line with variation documents, relevant soil survey, land survey and property information for review by the Presite Workflow teams
- Provide induction, training and coaching for new team members and through monitoring of individual, direct reports performance to improve efficiency
- Ensure the Production Drafting teams provide high level customer service to all stakeholders
Who are we looking for?
- Tertiary qualifications in residential drafting, building design and technology or equivalent
- Experience in a similar role within residential construction or related environment
- Sound knowledge of residential building codes, regulations, planning schemes and 6-star energy requirements
- ArchiCAD skills (Preferred but not essential)
- Intermediate Microsoft computer skills (Word, Excel & Outlook)
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, principles, methods, and materials involved in the production and construction of residential homes
- Previous experience managing a successful team
- Previous experience Framework and Click Home, intermediate level advantageous
