Draftsperson

The Draftsperson will play a crucial role in creating accurate and comprehensive technical drawings and plans for our trailer designs using CAD - computer aided design (SolidWorks) software. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure the efficient and precise translation of design concepts into production-ready drawings.

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and plans for expedition trailers using CAD software (Solidworks).
• Interpret design specifications, engineering calculations, and conceptual ideas to produce accurate and detailed drawings.
• Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure design feasibility, functionality, and adherence to manufacturing standards.
• Incorporate engineering changes, customer requirements, and production feedback into the drawings as needed.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of our manufacturing processes, materials, and component specifications.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all drawings and documentation.
• Support the development and improvement of drafting standards, procedures, and best practices within the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, fabricators, and project managers, to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) and familiarity with creating 2D and 3D drawings. Diploma or degree in drafting, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: 

Proven experience as a Draftsperson in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with a preference for 10 years of general experience in the field. Specific expertise in expedition trailers or similar products is highly valued. Experience in sheet metal drafting, composite materials, and fabrication is essential.
