The Opportunity
Continued growth requires us to add to our team of 14 as we seek a senior structural steel designer drafter to join our motivated team. Dedicated to adopting new technology and lean practices to create value engineered and innovative designs to meet customer needs this is an ideal time to join as part of our growth journey.
Reporting to the Building Design Team Leader, your key responsibilities will include:
- Use Tekla 3D to generate design models, as well as drawings for Engineering, Fabrication, and Installation.
- Apply established design principles and standards in the design and preparation of drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to review and refine design concepts.
- Identify value engineering opportunities, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline drafting processes and enhance efficiency.
About You:
You are highly skilled and passionate about new technological developments and the latest systems updates. You can adapt, learn quickly, be versatile, and are willing to take on challenging work as Central Steel Build continues to find new and creative ways to improve our business.
You possess a qualification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in design and/or structural drafting and can demonstrate experience in:
- Working independently to organize and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Continuous improvement with the drive to get the most efficient outcomes.
