Position Overview: As a Drainage Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our drainage systems. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring effective storm water management, flood prevention, and compliance with relevant regulations. You'll work closely with other council departments, contractors, and community members to enhance our drainage infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit permit applications related to drainage works, including Build Over Easement (BOE) permits.
Legal Point of Discharge (LPoD): Assess and determine the legal point of discharge for properties within the council area.
Design, analyse, and optimise drainage systems to handle stormwater runoff efficiently.
Maintenance and Inspections: Oversee regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of drainage assets.
Collaborate with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to address drainage-related concerns.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines.
Q ualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in Drainage Engineering, including BOE permits and LPoD assessments.
Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, GIS).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
