Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning, theDrill and Blast Engineer will play an integral role in the operations success. The role is accountable for developing safe and productive Drill and Blast designs and schedules. As Drill and Blast Engineer you will work closely with production stakeholders and other technical services personnel to deliver safe, accurate and efficient plans. This will include planning, communicating and reconciling of Drill and Blast activities with a continuous improvement mindset.
To set you up for success, we expect you will have:
- A commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- A Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mining or Civil) or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of Drill and Blast Engineering experience, ideally in open cut coal
- Some experience working in large open pit mining operations
- Understanding of value drivers in large open pit mining operations and how these apply to planning decisions
- Familiarity with Blast logic, Vulcan and Deswik CAD packages
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence a range of internal and external stakeholders
