Evolution Drill Rigs is a small, privately owned company which employs a small team of motivated specialists dedicated to the design, manufacturing, repair, marketing, and technical support for a broad range of exploration drilling equipment. 

EDR is seeking to employ a suitably qualified Mechanical Engineer to participate in the design and development of drill rigs and products to service the mineral exploration industry. They will need to have experience with design and drafting in 3D packages, preferably Autodesk Inventor. They must be eager to learn and willing to explore innovative ideas and concepts to design and develop sellable products. This position is based at the EDR facility in Richlands (Brisbane Southside). 

Some of the key functions of this position include:

1. Design drill rig components both for new builds, rebuilds or upgrades to suit customer needs.
2. Design of high-pressure hydraulic/electronic control systems and their 2D schematics.
3. Manage the collection and evaluation of product performance data.
4. Create and maintain documentation regarding engineering design reviews, specifications, and procedures.
5. Create formal reports for technical support.
6. Develop new products or innovations to further enhance product offerings.

The requirements for this full-time position are as follows: -

• Experience with Autodesk Inventor in design and development of steel products.
• Experience with the use of Ansys professional FEA software will be well regarded.
• A strong willingness to learn and grasp new concepts and skills required for product development.
• Experience in the Mining or exploration industry with a sound knowledge of Australian Standards. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with staff, clients, and suppliers in a polite and professional manner.
• High level knowledge of all Microsoft Office application software.
• Must be based in Brisbane and have the right to work in Australia.

 Qualifications / Experience:

• Professional level Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering Degree.
• CPEng or working towards well regarded. 
• Minimum 6 years of industry experience.
• 3D system design and drafting experience
