Directional Drilling and MWD Engineers

Cyberloop Australia founded in 2020 is one of the largest Directional Drilling companies in Australia having drilled over 80 km in 2022 alone. Our vision is to provide cutting edge services to the field services market with the use of internally developed software and automation systems. Cyberloop is a pioneer in remote and autonomous Directional Drilling in Australia.

We are looking for multiple dynamic and passionate Directional Drillers + MWD and MWD field engineers on a continuous 2 weeks on 2 weeks off to join our Directional Drilling team to fulfill upcoming projects. The projects are a mix of remote and onsite work. You will be required to familiarise yourself with Cyberloop cloud remote and autonomous systems.

Responsibilities of DDx ( DD+MWD) includes:

• Strict awareness and adhere to all HSE requirements of both client and Cyberloop 
• Strict reporting standards as per client and Cyberloop methodologies
• Proven experience with Mud Pulse and EM telemetry including field service and troubleshooting 
• Excellent communication ability and able to assist client representative at wellsite with advice and analysis 
• Proficient in use of DD and well planning software including generating plots and reports to company specifications 
• Active on site supervision of the entire process including logistics, running tools in hole and managing the entire DD process 
• Remote or Onsite provision of Directional Drilling and geosteering services with strict adherence to Cyberloop policies and procedures 
• Advanced understanding of Directional Directives and advanced Directional drilling contracts 
• Fundamental understanding of well planning, geosteering and extended reach wells 
• Proven knowledge of geosteering in shallow seams with knowledge of geosteering techniques 
• Ability to understand and interpret advanced logs including resistivity and near bit azimuthal gamma 
• Ability to understand image logs, focussed gamma and threading targets 
• Senior roles will require evidence of change management and effective management communications

Responsibilities of MWD include:

• Strict awareness and adhere to all HSE requirements of both client and Cyberloop 
• Strict reporting standards as per client and Cyberloop methodologies
• Proven experience with Mud Pulse and EM telemetry including field service and troubleshooting 
• Excellent communication ability and able to assist client representative at wellsite with advice and analysis 
• Proficient in Logistics and inventory management
• Fundamental understanding of surveying including short collar correction
• Basic understanding of geosteered wells

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

• Minimum of 5 years of field experience in Directional Drilling and or geosteering jobs
• Advanced computer skills including proven ability to learn new software and use of cloud based systems including the ability to troubleshoot IT systems 
• Proficiency in advanced DD software including Survey management, Torque and Drag and hydraulics modelling 
• Consideration will be given to previous startup experience and ability to handle high pressure situations 
• In addition to technical skills, effective communication and liaising with clients
• To be considered for DDx, roles will require a valid Australian manual drivers license
