The Opportunity
Thiess is always on the lookout for skilled talent to join our business. We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Drill and Blast Supervisors to join our projects in the Bowen Basin.
About the role
Working a 8/6 day shift roster and reporting to the Superintendent, your duties will include:

  • Lead safe, efficient, and effective blasting
  • Work towards cost optimisation through the effective utilisation and care of plant and personnel
  • Responsible for the effective leadership, training, and development of the Blast Crew
  • Ensure that drilling and Blasting production targets and efficiencies are maximised and carried out in a cost-effective manner
About you
As the successful applicant, you will be a high achieving and team focused individual with a focus on building a solid collaborative and high performing culture within your work team. You will have extensive experience in open cut coal mining with a drive to deliver results.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • QLD Shotfirers ticket will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high-performing team
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders
