Stryder is a well-respected and long-established for-purpose Community Transport provider enabling transport disadvantaged people to live independently, access their community and lead satisfying and well-balanced lives. We are based in Gladesville and operate in and around Sydney Metro. We are in a growth phase and expanding our services in response to the changing market conditions and opportunities.
We provide our clients with safe, reliable and caring transport to their medical, hospital and personal appointments; day activities and work places for our NDIS clients; and we also run a vibrant social and shopping program for our seniors, provided in our buses.
Our clients include elderly people, people with disabilities, people from diverse cultural backgrounds and other groups of people, who are in need of our accessible transport services. This includes providing bus hire to community groups.

The position of Driver is a key role as you are the face of Stryder and the one providing direct delivery of scheduled door-to-door transport services for our clients. This is achieved through undertaking driving for the various service types, assisting clients to and from their door, into the vehicle and ensuring they are comfortably and safely seated, along with storing and securing of mobility devices. Transport is provided in a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans (9-14 seats) and small buses (19-27 seats). The position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Stryder is seeking a casual Community Transport driver. There is opportunity for the position to become permanent for the right person. Shifts are usually Monday to Friday, but weekend and evening shifts are occasionally offered. Our casual drivers usually get a minimum of 3 shifts a week. The successful applicant will need to have good communication skills, an empathic and caring nature, ability to work independently as well as alongside other team members, including volunteers. We are seeking someone who will make the extra effort to ensure the transport experience for each client is top notch by being well-presented, helpful, courteous and upholds the reliable and safe standards of the organisation.
Essential Criteria:
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current NSW Light Rigid Licence or higher
- NSW Bus Driver Authority – (includes mandatory medical)
- NSW Point to Point Driver Authority
- Clear National Criminal History Check
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Workers Check
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Good driving record
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
Desirable Criteria:
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability or similar
- Previous experience as a driver, working the community services industry
- Previous experience in transportation - general
- Experience with supporting and assisting elderly people, people with disabilities, and people with health-related issues and other diverse groups
- Geographical knowledge of Ryde and Hunters Hill local government areas, and beyond
