About the Role
Due to successful business growth, we now have an opportunity for an experienced Driver Trainer to join our team based at Kewdale WA. This is a newly created role and is a full-time opportunity. Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you'll be responsible for assessing drivers and facilitating chain of responsibility (CoR), as well as delivering health, safety, and wellbeing training programs across our divisional sites. The role will be responsible for Driver Trainer duties across WA, SA, and NT.
In this role, you will:
- Develop training programs that encompass regulatory, industry and Company requirements.
- Ensure training programs utilise a variety of styles, techniques and approaches to deliver the required content, effectively, to a diverse audience.
- Deliver training programs to current and new drivers to assess and evaluate driver knowledge, competency, and skills.
- Prepare reports against the training assessment criteria and upload to the Company records repository.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant driving regulations and requirements.
- Provide feedback to participants and make recommendations in relation to driver suitability to relevant Warehousing & Distribution stakeholders.
- Driver training to include upskilling, load restraint, Chain of Responsibility (COR), and fatigue management.
- Maintain records of training completion and record re-assessment dates to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain extensive product training for different vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct internal site audits and prepare reports for management review.
You will be reporting through the HSE department.
About youHere are the skills and qualifications you will need to be considered for this role.
- Current Multi Combination (MC) class driver’s license
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- At least 2 years’ experience working in an operational transport and logistics business
- Ability to take initiative and also work unsupervised
- Confident computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong assessment and report writing skills
- Excellent time management, decision-making, and organisational skills
- Structured training techniques
- Willing to travel interstate when required
- Strong knowledge of COR and NHVAS modules.
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety are preferred but not essential.
