- 1 year of experience working with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
- Experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Python or Go.
- Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer.
- Experience with high availability systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging distributed systems.
- Understanding of distributed computing systems.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Google's services—both our internally critical and our externally-visible systems—have reliability, uptime appropriate to users' needs and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally SRE’s will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance. Much of our software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation.
On the SRE team, you’ll have the opportunity to manage the complex challenges of scale which are unique to Google, while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large-scale system design.

In this role, you will be responsible for the reliability of the Android phone ecosystem and related services.
The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with a team of Software and Systems Engineers, including iteration and task planning.
- Manage availability, performance of services, and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
- Work with other Engineering teams to reuse and understand existing frameworks.
- Create, drive, and deliver service level objectives that enable product reliability.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
