We are an independent, not-for-profit, community based centre, run as a co-operative, by a voluntary parent management committee. The parent management committee works collaboratively with the paid members of staff — the Centre Director and a team of dedicated, experienced and long-serving educators.
The Role:
As the Early Childhood Teacher, you will work in partnership with colleagues, children, families and other professionals to share decision-making, engage in conversation and critical reflection about different theoretical and philosophical approaches to the pedagogy they adapt.
A strong reliance on constructive communication and collaboration between the campus teams and families is a critical component of this role. You will be actively supporting the teams by supporting them on the floor when required.
Duties also include
- To ensure children's wellbeing, learning needs and interests are addressed through a high quality education
- Meet and Greet families, children and visitors at the service
- Working with a wonderful team at the Preschool you will be responsible for planning and implementing the educational program which values a holistic view of each child's development.
- Maintain ongoing records of the children’s development, program and daily information.
- Assisting with the Educational program on and off the floor
- Assuring the high quality of services in consideration of the National Quality Standards.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Government Regulations
- Assist on the floor when required
- Build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Essential
- Bachelor in Early Childhood Education; (NEW Grad ECT's accepted)
- Current Child Protection, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
- As an Educational Leader the ability to plan, implement and evaluate Early Childhood programs as required by the EYLF;
- Sound understanding of National Education and Care Services
- Regulation;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Working with Children Check number
