Whittlesea Early Parenting Centre Early Parenting Practitioner
We are seeking Early Parenting Practitioners to join our team at Whittlesea Early Parenting Centre (WEPC) located in South Morang.
Early Parenting Centres (EPC's) strive to support happy, healthy, safe and thriving babies and toddlers by promoting the parent-child relationship, and equipping parents with strategies to achieve their parenting goals. These goals are often in areas such as sleep and settling, child behaviour, and parent and child health and wellbeing. EPC’s recognise that the health and wellbeing of the primary caregiver, and whole family is vital to children’s development and outcomes. EPC’s provide specialist support for Victorian families with children’s aged 0-4 years.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Early Parenting Practitioner role is to:
- Provision of responsive Early Parenting support to families with children up to their 4th Birthday
- Actively participate as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the complex needs of families
- Provide emotional and practical support and guidance for the health and wellbeing of children
- Employed under the Nursing and Midwifery EBA as a IB65
- Permanent Part Time, Full Time hours and casual hours are available
- WEPC is open Monday to Friday and is closed on Weekends
- Shifts are Day 0700-1530, Evening 1400-2230 and Night Duty 2200-0730
- Free On-Site Car Parking
- WEPC is open 50 weeks a year with a 2 week closure over Christmas/New Year
ABOUT YOU:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Development, at Diploma level or above
- EN (Mothercraft Nursing)
- Well-developed skills in risk and needs assessment
- Relevant discipline which supports understanding of key child development issues relating to young parents and families e.g. Diploma in Children’s service or Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)
- If applicable, APHRA registration
