Your day in the Revenue Division

The Revenue Division is responsible for providing advice to Government to ensure sustainable, efficient and equitable revenues now and in the future. The roles provide a unique opportunity to shape and influence government tax policies and reforms. You will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of state taxes, revenues and economic issues such as property and land taxes, insurance duties, payroll tax, gambling taxes and policy, road pricing, infrastructure levy contributions, and transitioning to net zero emissions strategies.

Our work cuts across the stages of policy development—research, policy design, quantitative analysis and modelling, and legislative change. A typical day in the role may involve developing and assessing policy or reform options with reference to economic and regulatory impacts and fundamental tax principles, modelling the impacts of tax changes, undertaking consultation with stakeholders, advising on legislation, providing verbal advice to senior executive and preparing briefs, reports and other written material.
