Salary Range: (Band 6) AUD $123,125 - $136,237 including superannuation

Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions

Our Branch - City Planning and Economic Development

We deliver strategic projects to help create and transform a more liveable and economically viable Brisbane. With a focus on future strategic planning, our people help shape Brisbane through suburban design projects, infrastructure and economic growth.

The Role

The Senior Economic Analyst will help drive positive economic development outcomes for Council and the City of Brisbane by contributing to the formation, implementation, and monitoring of key economic and socio-economic issues and opportunities.

This role will contribute technical expertise and undertake self-directed specialised research with appropriate data sources and metrics to inform and resolve complex problems. This is a great opportunity for a experienced Economic Analyst to provide data insights and analytical expertise. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join a supportive, progressive, and close-knit team of highly experienced professionals. 

To be successful you will have:

  • Demonstrated technical skills in interpreting economic and demographic measures that are relevant to understanding urban economies
  • career experience in researching, sourcing, manipulating and analysing statistical data
  • career experience monitoring and reporting on trends of economic activity
  • project management skills in the delivery of economic outcomes to inform and present key priorities and outcomes.
  • experience in utilising software packages such as PowerBI, ArcGIS, ABS Tablebuilder or similar
  • highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
