About the role:
This exciting role has been created to assist the Coordinator Economic Development to promote the city as a prime location for enhanced business and Economic Development. Belmont has a thriving economy and is one of very few local governments with more local jobs than residents. You will be delivering on the objectives of the City’s new Economic Development Strategy that promotes responsible growth and development within the city and assists local businesses and community to thrive.
The role has varied duties from building positive and professional relationships, providing support and assistance to businesses, administering business advisory group meetings and business newsletters, through to planning and delivering programs such as engaging networking events, business collaboration initiatives, tourism and job creation activities. The role will engage in contemporary Economic Development practice, advancing wellbeing economy with circular economy and corporate social responsibility objectives.
Working within the Economic & Community Development department, the role also provides interesting opportunities to collaborate with community development staff on a range of rewarding joint initiatives enhance economic participation for our diverse community.
About you:
Your knowledge of contemporary Economic Development practice and theory, current and relevant industry experience in a similar role, excellent administration skills, andyour dynamic stakeholder engagement skills will see you succeed in this position.
