Job description

About Us
Kempsey Shire Council (KSC) is located on the Mid North Coast of NSW, known for its genuine hospitality, pristine beaches, sub-tropical rainforests, mountain ranges, rock river gorges, sprawling farmland and peaceful villages.
We are a progressive, proactive and dynamic organisation, and we pride ourselves on the respectful and supportive workplace we have cultivated. With 360+ dedicated staff managing $1.1 billion worth of assets across many sites throughout the Shire, KSC work closely with our community to build an inspired, connected Macleay Valley.
Your New Role
We are seeking a passionate and visionary Economic Development Officer to join us at KSC. Through providing project management support to the Economic Development & Tourism Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving initiatives that promote growth, attract investment, support local businesses, and ultimately contribute to crafting a prosperous future for our community!

In addition, you have demonstrated experience working directly with businesses in agribusiness, tourism and/or events space and bring a strong understanding of economic principles, marketing dynamics and business fundamentals. You enjoy connecting with individuals and look forward to the opportunity to exercise your communication and networking skills. Importantly, you share our values of:
Passion: We approach our work with enthusiasm and drive
Integrity: We build the trust and confidence of the community and staff
Innovation: We challenge the status quo, and have the courage to take risks, to achieve creative and efficient solutions
Communication: We ensure open communication for all
Respect: We consider our workmates, community, the workplace and environment

Weekly salary of $1,392.54 to $1,567.32 (plus 11% superannuation).
A working environment focussed on wellbeing, including flexible work arrangements, rostered days off, EAP access, social club, and health and wellbeing programs.
