The Role
A rewarding opportunity has become available for an Economic Development Project Officer to join our City Marketing and Investment Team. The opportunity will see you develop and implement strategies, initiatives, and innovation programs to promote the economic growth of the City of Canterbury Bankstown in line with Council's Economic Development Strategy, Night Time Economy Action Plan, and other relevant strategies.
This position will implement strategies to enable and encourage relevant groups, and other interested and affected parties, to actively participate in dealing with specific issues, as well as the future strategic of the City
*This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Develop strategic partnerships with high level internal and external stakeholders in order to manage customer relations, deliver projects and effective project management of projects
- Develop and deliver projects and business events that promote innovative Economic Development, grow our Night Time Economy, employment creation and skills enhancement
- Prepare project plans that detail required resources and establish effective budgeting, reporting and monitoring.
- Review and report on economic data analytics, providing reports, analysis and insights on relevant projects as required.
- Research and data analysis of business, industry and labour market trends
- Development of innovation and entrepreneurial programs with key stakeholders
- Consult with and seek input from companies, government departments and local and regional Economic Development agencies in relation to the Economic Development, employment creation and skills enhancement issues

You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications (University Degree) in Digital Media, Marketing, Economics or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience using EDM platforms
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to exercise high levels of autonomy, while at the same time working effectively in a team-based environment that is outcomes focused
- Effective project management skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of an organisation, with key stakeholders and with members of the community.
- Digital savvy and an interest in new digital and technology trends
- Strong customer liaison skills & experience
The salary range for this opportunity ranges from $87,786 (Grade G, Step 1) to $94,636 (Grade G, Step 3) + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
