Aquinas College is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition servicing in excess of 1,300 local, country and international boys.  Aquinas College has a rich history within Western Australia education and a reputation of producing outstanding young men.

We are seeking a passionate, dynamic and innovative Education Assistant who demonstrates a proven track record in the provision of education support to teachers in the classroom. This role form part of an inclusive, supportive and high performing team, within a values based environment, reporting to the Director of Inclusive Education.

Position Objective:

The teacher assistant will work under the direction of the Director of Inclusive Education in a role of support to assist teachers to provide for the physical, intellectual, social, religious and emotional development of students with specific learning needs or disabilities.

Preferred commencement date is 15 April 2024

Successful Candidate Credentials

To be successful in this role you will have the following credentials:

• Hold a minimum qualification; Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent;
• Diploma of Education Support would be desirable;
• Hold a Working with Children clearance;
• Gain a satisfactory National Police History Check;
• Have or be prepared to undertake Mandatory Reporting training; and
• Have appropriate Australian work rights.

Selection criteria

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:

• Support for the Edmund Rice Charism, Edmund Rice schooling, Catholic ethos and the College Mission;
• Sound knowledge and experience providing educational assistance in a similar role within a school environment;
• Experience using ICT as a teaching resource;
• Sound interpersonal skills enabling harmonious and positive relationships;
• Sound organisational and time management skills; and
• Ability to work cohesively within a team or autonomously.
