Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Education Coordinator: Research, to join our Clinical Nursing Education Department as part of Clinical Education Unit (CEU).
Clinical Nursing Education Department (CNED)
As part of the Clinical Education Unit, the Clinical Nursing Education Department provides Austin Health with contemporary, evidence-based education programs which align with clinical divisions and the Austin Health strategic plan. Clinical education is delivered by the Nursing Education team utilising all appropriate and available teaching and learning methodologies.
Education Coordinator (Research)
The Grade 5 Education Co-ordinator (Research) will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the conduct of health services research and will work closely with the Senior Nursing Research Fellow, Education Co-ordinators, and Clinical Education Unit team to:
1) Support the development of Austin Health’s nurse-led research program
2) Facilitate and monitor the Nursing Research Community of Practice
3) Progress clinical enquiry and translation of evidence in practice
4) Develop project methods, data collection, management, analysis and reporting in accordance with research and improvement work reporting requirements
The Education Coordinator (Research) brings together the needs of the organisation whilst representing the Nursing Executive and Clinical Education Unit strategy and initiatives at organisational level.
Essential knowledge and skills:
- Registered Nurse, current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia without notations or restrictions
- Comprehensive understanding of ICH-GCP Guidelines and relevant regulatory/statutory guidelines
- Demonstrated capability in the conduct of high-quality practice improvement projects
- Demonstrated capability in the conduct of research in a health service
- Demonstrated capability in applying research methodologies and quantitative/qualitative data analysis
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective research collaboration and engagement
- Demonstrated capability in using technology (at a minimum Office 365 including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Current Working with Children’s Check
Desirable knowledge and skills:
- Master degree (or equivalent) in nursing or related health science, preferably with a research focus and/or a doctorate
- Demonstrated capability in the conduct of high-quality research from project conception through to knowledge translation
- Demonstrated project management skills
