Your Role:
In the role of EHS Assurance Manager, you will be crucial in advancing our Safety, Health & Wellbeing, Environment & Sustainability Strategy (SHWES Strategy), balancing the identification and implementation of safety, health, and environmental requirements across our operational spectrum. Your responsibilities will encompass tracking progress and strategically guiding captures, program setups, and compliance assurance. Integral to your role is the ability to forge and maintain strong relationships with the EHS Team, Functions, and Operational Units, which is key to the successful execution and ongoing enhancement of our EHS initiatives.
Tasked with developing the WHS and Environmental audit/assurance program, you will manage inspection schedules and lead internal audits. Your role also involves compliance reporting, contributing to the annual EHS Functional Plan, and maintaining the integrity of the NGA EHS Management System. Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in drafting key sections of proposals and tenders and integrating new WHS or environmental regulations into our management system.
About You:
As an experienced EHS professional, you have a proven track record in leading assurance audit programmes, implementing effective risk management strategies, and conducting thorough incident investigations, particularly in sectors such as aviation, manufacturing, mining, construction, or energy. Your strong soft skills are evident in your history of successful collaboration, clear communication, and proficiency in software systems like Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and ChemAlert.
Your qualifications include an Advanced Diploma in Work Health & Safety or equivalent, and certifications as a Lead Auditor in ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or ISO 9001, along with an Incident Investigation Certificate. Additionally, holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a current Australian Driver’s Licence, and a Risk Management Certificate are essential to your professional profile. While not mandatory, your experience as a Certified OHS Professional with AIHS and project management skills are highly advantageous and have been instrumental in your previous roles.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in upholding and enhancing EHS standards, making a significant and meaningful impact across the organisation. Your ability to build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships across various functions and operational units is vital to the success of this role.
