The Role
The Directorate of Engineering and Logistics, within Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems Branch (MIWS), is seeking a professional, motivated and experienced EL1 Configuration Manager. The position will manage and provide oversight of the configuration management system for the Branch and support the Principal Engineer of MIWS to maintain the accreditation of Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO). The specific duties of this role include:

• Establish, implement and maintain a Configuration Management System for the Branch.
• Manage configuration governance and assurance activities, maintaining currency of the Branch configuration management plan and other engineering plans.
• Lead the MIWS Configuration Function Group and technical support network.
• Influence and liaise with multiple stakeholders internally and externally.
• Manage the technical quality control framework.
• Manage and develop the configuration workforce for the Branch, including training and development.
• Maintain MIWS E&L battle rhythm including the provision of AEO guidance to projects and products team through regular Configuration Function Group meetings and to the Principal Engineer.
• Provide configuration management tools to ensure consistency in Integrated Warfare System products baseline management, delivery and commonality across the RAN Surface Fleet and Undersea Warfare Systems.
• Liaising closely with the Directorate of Maritime Engineering and Logistics to produce the Maritime Sustainment Business model for a cross class solution.

MIWS is seeking a motivated Configuration Manager with excellent personal attributes to provide people and intellectual leadership to the MIWS E&L workforce in configuration management. As an EL1 Configuration Manager you will be required to demonstrate a range of skills, however the specific competencies below are critical to success within APS technical roles.

• Excellent stakeholder management to engage with other cross class enterprises enabling an understanding of cross class engineering change process and solutions.
• An in-depth understanding of the Naval Logistics Information Systems interfaces and their use within the maritime sustainment engineering change process.
• Have relevant qualification or degree. For example, certification from the Society of International Configuration Managers.
• Provide relevant examples of your experience in managing an engineering change process and configuration management within the Maritime Acquisition and Sustainment AMSDO construct.
• Lead and supervise, write and report, apply expertise and technology; and analyse information.
