The Role
Accountable for managing Defence supports contracts. This may include Major Service Provider (MSP), Defence Support Services (DSS) Panel or a combination of Above or Below the Line contracts:
- Setting work area priorities.
- Managing workflows.
- Developing strategies.
- Evaluating business outcomes around any inforce contract MSP agreements.
- Engage, negotiate and persuade clients and stakeholders.
- Respond to complex enquiries and contract management issues.
- Taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action to ensure resolution.
- Monitor and manage contract administration, performance and risks against the contract and contribute to appropriate action.
- Initiate strategies to align with a continuous improvement ethos employed within MSCSPO.
About our Team
The MSCSPO Contract Manager is accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business objectives. They will work with independence and set work tasks that align with the strategic objectives and communicate expected outcomes.
The Contract Manager will manage stakeholder engagement and identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and apply procurement methodology to achieve appropriate outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
Our Ideal Candidate
The EL 1Contract Manager is accountable under broad direction to undertake complex contract management activities. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in managing stakeholder engagements.
- The ability to steer and implement change whilst working within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures.
- A high level of decision making ability.
- Intelligence and common sense around stakeholder negotiations and relationships.
- The capability to communicate clearly (including being able to listen, understand and adapt to an audience).
- The ability to think strategically, harness information and opportunities would be considered highly desirable for this position.
- Demonstrated understanding of Defence's mission and business objectives.
- Knowledge and experience with both the MSP and DSS Panel arrangements will be highly regarded.
