The Assistant Director, External/Internal Budgets is responsible for assisting with both the internal and external budget process and supporting the Director, Budgets and Reporting and the National Manager – Finance, Property and Procurement (the Chief Finance Officer).
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the external budget process (including developing new policy proposals)
- Delivering the Commission’s internal budget allocation process
- Preparing quality management reports to senior executives
- Ad-hoc tasks as required and directed.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in government budgeting processes, including preparing, presenting and advising on budgeting and financial modelling
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills including the ability to provide support and direction to a small team
- Possess liaison, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders through strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed analytical skills and proven ability to use a positive and proactive approach to problem solving
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Proactively identify and implement process and system improvements where appropriate.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business or commerce from a recognised tertiary institution
- Current membership of CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, or working towards achieving this.
- Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
- Security Clearance – The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
