About the Team
Our Corporate, Information and Property Services Branch plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of centralised corporate services across our agency, including managing our physical property portfolio, corporate services, and shared services arrangements with Services Australia. Our Property team oversees the management, maintenance, and fit-out of properties, as well as leasing arrangements with federal departments.
About the Role
As the EL2 Property Capital Works Manager, you will lead a team responsible for managing and delivering property projects of substantial depth and significant detail. You will have delegated authority to resolve issues and risks across a wide range of activities, providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management, and decision-making for the team and assigned contractors.
- Lead and manage detailed property projects from initiation to completion.
- Oversee end-to-end construction project management, including planning, design, approvals, procurement, delivery, and handover.
- Draft business cases, plans, executive briefs, project reports, and status updates.
- Conduct research and analysis, preparing draft reports on project activities.
- Manage project budgets, reviewing and reporting on expenditure.
- Identify and manage program governance, including project risks, issues, and benefits.
- Establish and manage procurement and contracts for project delivery, monitoring contractor performance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage high performance and collaboration within the team.
About you
To thrive in this role, you need:
- Extensive experience in construction project management, preferably within a property or real estate context.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience in budget management and financial reporting.
- Ability to analyse complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
- Experience in procurement and contract management.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to property and construction.
- Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
