The Performance Statements Audit Services Group (PSASG) provides the Parliament and the public with assurance on the quality, usefulness and reliability of performance information reported in entities’ annual Performance Statements which are published in their annual reports.The opportunityLead the conduct of annual Performance Statements Audits of government entities, including evidence collection, research, analysis and report writing.Lead development of a fit-for-purpose audit methodology for the auditing of annual Performance Statements;Design and manage complex and engaging audit projects, examining topics of public interest and importance.Lead the Learning and Development function for the Group to build capability, including the development of innovative online training modules and working collaboratively with the ANAO Academy. Who we are looking forThe successful candidates will have experience in preparing evidence-based written reports and can think strategically, manage projects to time and budget, and draw conclusions from evidence. We are seeking candidates who can:Lead a team in the conduct of Performance Statements Audits, and the development of related products that examine business processes across the Commonwealth public sector;Plan, manage and deliver projects within budgets, timeframes and in conformance with ANAO auditing standards;Manage and develop staff capability by undertaking quality audits, reviewing performance and providing feedback;Prepare high quality, well written, professional audit reports and recommendations.Represent and promote the ANAO and individual audit products to client agencies and external bodies;Contribute to the development of associated audit projects, such as the annual audit work program, ANAO Insights publications and show creativity in the development of new ways to improve audit impact.Demonstrate resilience across the duration of a long project that will be subject to extensive quality requirements and where entities may be resistant to the audit process.Assist the Group Executive Director to shape and maintain a program of performance statement audits that has impact and is valued by key stakeholders including Parliament.
