Electrical Compliance Inspector
Joining our team means you'll be part of something that really matters. As our Electrical Compliance Inspector you will be based in Carnarvon and responsible for fully understanding and delivering electrical inspection in accordance with Horizon Power's Network connection requirements, WA Electrical Requirements, AS/NZS Wiring Rules and related standards, statutory Network's legislation, and Inspection System Plan requirements.

Your role will include:

  • Execute electrical inspections within consumer installations in line with Horizon Powers' endorsed Inspection System Plan and methods
  • Deliver, complete and track inspectors' orders in line with endorsed Inspection System Plan and methods
  • Monitor and update InSpark to deliver the objectives of the Inspections System Plan in accordance with agreed performance criterion
  • Execute incident and breach investigations relating to serious electrical incidents and non-compliance of the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991 WA (including shocks and fires) within consumers installations
  • Provide specialist and un-bias advice relating to compliance to electrical contractors regarding consumer installations
  • Attend and participate in Inspectorate monthly meeting providing subject matter clarification and information when required
  • Maintain productivity and skill requirements to ensure execution of Horizon Powers' endorsed Inspection System Plan
  • Maintain least cost for the deployment of the endorsed Inspection System Plan and related methods
  • Comply with Building and Energy's Code of Practice of Electrical Inspectors
  • Plan and submit the weekly travel requests as requested

You will have:

  • Minimum 8 years post trade electrical industry experience
  • Previous experience working on residential premises
  • Experience working with residential and/or commercial solar and batteries
  • Intimate knowledge of relevant electrical Acts and Regulations driving Electrical Compliance in Western Australia
  • Intimate knowledge of Australian Standards driving electrical safety compliance
  • Electrical compliance inspection practices
  • WA Driver's License Class "C" or "C-A"
  • Advanced Certificate in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (preferred)
  • Remote 4 Wheel Driving Certificate
  • Hold a current Electrical Contractors Licence or previous experience as an independent contractor
