About the opportunity
We currently have multiple permanent full-time positions available for immediate filling.
As a Livestock Compliance Inspector Level 3 you will undertake investigations and inspections relating to breaches of livestock welfare, you will prepare and submit evidence reports, issue notices and warnings and serve summons as required. This is a great opportunity to build and maintain relationships with team members and other stakeholders through sharing knowledge and learning with others. In line with the above skill set, you may also be called upon to undertake compliance and education activities within other business areas of DPIRD.
As a Senior Livestock Compliance Inspector Level 4, your primary responsibility is to ensure compliance with livestock welfare and relevant legislation. This involves conducting inspections, investigations, and compliance activities while collaborating with external organizations and the community to address animal welfare concerns and ensure proper livestock identification and movement. You will gather evidence, prepare reports, and issue notices and cautions, ensuring the quality control of evidence and court documentation. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of operational policies, procedures, and protocols, participate in working groups, and represent the Department in prosecution matters.
As a Supervising Livestock Compliance Officer Level 5 your expertise in compliance legislation, governance frameworks, and operational procedures, coupled with your understanding of livestock animal welfare issues, makes you the ideal candidate to oversee the Livestock Compliance team. In this role, you will manage various resources to achieve organizational objectives and provide guidance to government bodies, industry representatives, and community groups on livestock transport and welfare issues. You must have a solid understanding of legislation interpretation and field compliance conduct. Building relationships and mentoring teammates will be essential for implementing compliant operational policies. Additionally, as a representative of the Department and Branch, you will attend meetings, handle prosecution matters, and foster collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and departmental staff.

  • knowledge of relevant compliance legislation, governance frameworks, and operational procedures.
