The role would operate Monday to Friday, 38-hour week Based in Redcliffe.
Description
This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design Heavy Mobile Equipment Fast Charging facility, meeting industry standards and regulations. You will be responsible for designing and developing the electrical systems using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical System Design: Design and develop the electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, auxiliary systems and implement DC power systems.
- Schematic and Wiring Diagrams: Create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using MicroStation and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design
- Design and develop DC power systems for specific applications. This includes creating electrical schematics, layouts, and selecting components such as batteries, inverters, and charge controllers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DC power systems into larger electrical projects, coordinating with other engineers to ensure seamless operation. Provide drafting support for creating prototypes of power electronic systems, as needed.
- Integration: Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into the overall design.
- Cost Management: Assist in cost estimation for electrical components and systems, optimizing designs for cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, identifying and resolving issues during prototype and production phases.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of electrical designs, changes, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- CAD Proficiency: Utilise MicroStation and AutoCAD software proficiently for drafting, modelling, and creating 2D and 3D drawings.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure project
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all electrical designs adhere to quality standards and are aligned with project objectives.
- Ability to work from Redcliffe location.
- Electrical, Electronics Engineering diploma or degree
- Minimum 5 years' experience in design & drafting
- Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD for electrical design.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Sound knowledge of electrical schematic drawings, Cable Lists, Block Diagrams, Terminal Drawings, Reports & BOMs
- Experience with DC power component selection, including batteries, inverters, charge controllers, and power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with different types of inverters and controllers and their compatibility with DC power systems.
- Proven experience in designing power electronic circuits and systems, including power converters, inverters, rectifiers, and DC-DC converters.
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations for power electronics design, and efficiency standards.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
