The Electrical Engineer is designed to be fully functional in the 4-Day work week trial.
Job Summary
We are looking for an exceptional Electrical Engineer who will provide electrical expertise in managing the design, selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical & automation aspect of equipment required to meet the company’s manufacturing objectives.
Leading and managing electrical and automation resources comprising of automation engineer and electricians.
Role Responsibilities
GENERAL
- Interpreting specifications, drawings, standards, and regulations related to electrical equipment
- Organising and managing resources for electrical components and machines
- Ensure that the HT / LT electrical installations, Instrumentation and automation installations at Minto are maintained as per Unilever and Australian Standards
- Provide specialist advice and service in the areas of electrical & automation engineering
- Drive automation process improvement work together with all production teams
- Deliver projects and electrical & automation elements of new installations
- Lead and manage the design, selection, procurement, installation and commissioning of plant and equipment required to meet Minto’s manufacturing standards
- Provide production with excellent service in electrical & controls system breakdown and maintenance support
- Support site 0-4-80 vision in activities across all pillars as required
SAFETY
- Ensure all new installations and changes to existing plant comply with Unilever Standards and Australian regulations
- Lead and drive the electrical safety audits, identification of gaps, development of action plans, corrective actions and follow up for improvement of electrical safety programs in manufacturing plant
- Drive risk assessment of for routine and non- routine work (including engineering), in developing safer work practices, or safer equipment
- Carry out activities according to the company’s safety and environmental policies
- Ensure all contractors comply with site electrical safety and environmental requirements and follow the site contractor management system
- Assist with the development and compliance of site electrical safety standards and ensuring these standards are trained out and adhered to
PERSONNEL
- Drive training of electricians in the effective use of electrical and control systems installed in the factory
- Formal & informal reviews during and at the end of the project to ensure successful "hand over" delivers world class performance
- Effective planning, organisation, leadership and interaction with electrical team and other key stakeholders
Key Competencies
- Must possess good diagnostic and analytical skills and be able to apply them effectively
- Experience in materials handling, manufacturing processes
- An understanding of the fundamentals of process design
- An understanding of WCM principles

Does this sound like You
- Must have a Tertiary Qualification in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
- Electrical trade certificate with minimum 10 year experience within manufacturing
- Working knowledge in PLC programming software including Allen-Bradley, Siemens
- Process and packaging electrical hardware knowledge
- First-hand experience delivering major electrical and automation capital projects within FMCG environment is desired
- Strong communications, written and verbal
- Strong organisation skills
