As a Solar Electrical Engineer, reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will take ownership of the electrical and mechanical design function for multiple C&I solar and battery projects.
To be eligible for this position, ideally you have the following:
- CEC Grid Connected PV Design Accreditation
- Minimum 2 years experience working in the Australian C&I solar sector
- A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering qualification
- Fluent in AutoCAD and PVSyst
- Solid understanding of PV System components, Engineering, and operations
- Knowledge of DNSPs grid protection requirements and electrical specifications
- Good knowledge of AS3000, AS3008, AS4777, AS5033, CEC guidelines and other relevant standards and frameworks
- Attention to details and willing to learn
- Time management and organisational skills
- Passionate about renewable energy and the environment
This position has following responsibilities and job duties:
- Mainly responsible for solar energy system design and layout, and ensure compliance with relevant industry and Australian standards.
- Conducting research on the technical and engineering aspects of the project and analyse and synthesise data and information collected and formulate make recommendations
- Performing Electrical Engineering design for off-grid solar system, hybrid system and on-grid system including energy audits and meter data analysis and design solutions accordingly, using industry standard software such as nearmap, autoCAD or Aurora Solar.
- Contribute to proposals and projects for solar resource assessments, energy production estimates, performance assessments of operating projects, siting, performance testing, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, component modelling, conceptual design, and strategic planning.
- Assist with solar PV design optimization and equipment selection for cost reduction and performance improvement.
- Safely conduct the field work of the project - Carry out field work
- Engineering support during construction, system commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical advice and direction to sales consultants.
- Contribute to business development and prepare commercial proposals and calculating savings.
