THE OPPORTUNITY
This is your chance to join a dynamic team and lead collaborations on projects developing and manufacturing decarbonisation solutions for heavy industry partners dedicated to a cleaner future. Focused on vehicle retrofits and designs to enable hybrid, battery electric, and hydrogen fuel cell systems for rail and mining. You'll be responsible for ensuring that engineering projects meet Australian Standards, working closely with our premier engineering team in China and our local team in Docklands, Melbourne.
The Role:
Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure design projects with our engineering team adhere to Australian Standards.
- Guide overseas manufacturing sites to meet Australian market compliance.
- Oversee on-site inspections of locomotives and industrial machinery.
- Manage subcontractors during modification works to ensure safety and operational compliance.
- Perform audits to ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
External Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the bridge between the Australian team and overseas manufacturing partners, utilising your fluency in Mandarin and English to coordinate project collaboration and compliance.
- Communicate with regulatory bodies to stay updated on compliance requirements and ensure alignment with company procedure.
- Foster relationships with external stakeholders to share best practices and compliance efforts.
Quality Assurance and Project Execution:
- Conduct thorough tests to ensure compliance, focusing on reliability and safety.
- Provide detailed improvement recommendations based on test findings and compliance evaluations.
- Implement corrective actions for any compliance issues identified during testing.
- Research new standards and upskill in compliance required for new and existing projects.
ABOUT YOU
You are a highly motivated engineering professional ready to make a mark in ELECTRICAL ENGINEERing projects within Australia. Your fluency in Mandarin and comprehensive understanding of Australian Standards position you as the perfect intermediary between Australian projects and their global manufacturing partners.
To be successful, you will need:
Experience and Education:
- 2-3 years of ELECTRICAL ENGINEERing experience, with a solid understanding of Australian Standards.
- Preference for a Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is highly advantageous.
Understanding of Australian Standards:
- Extensive knowledge of Australian Standards for locomotive and mining industrial equipment manufacturing and engineering, including AS3000 and relevant RISSB AS 7500 standards.
- Understanding of control principles in Battery Management Systems (BMS) is desirable.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Exceptional communication skills in both English and Mandarin, crucial for effective international cooperation.
- A committed team member passionate about achieving shared goals through international cooperation.
