About the Role
GEM Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 2-3 years of demonstrated local (Australian) Solar/BESS engineering and design experience to join the growing team. Working with an experienced project delivery team as part of our internal Electrical Engineering team, you will help deliver some of the leading solar and battery storage projects across Australia. You will develop projects from inception through to commissioning whilst managing multiple stakeholders and assisting with the completion of Solar Energy System Designs, ECI Proposals, and Construction Drawings. Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Preparation of drawings, plans, and designs for Solar Projects working with our CEC Accredited Designers and RPEQ Engineers
• Selection of Suitable Products and Ancillary Enabling Equipment to be incorporated into the System Designs
• Estimating material costs, quantities & support in tender preparation
• Organising and supervising the assembly and installation of the specified components and controls
• Performing and reporting on in-field product testing and performance. Including quality assurance and control.
• Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations, and preparing diagrams as needed
• Ensuring that designs and completed work are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisions
• Project Programming & Scheduling
• Project Administration including contracts, commercial management, procurement, and client liaison.
• Liaising with subcontractors & suppliers
As a successful candidate, you will bring:
• Engineering design and delivery background with project management/delivery experience (preferred)
• Other related qualifications and diplomas will be considered.
• Experience in the renewable energy sector for a minimum 2-3 years (essential)
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaboratively with the whole team
• Personable, diligent, and goal-orientated
• Exceptional computer literacy & proficiency in CAD & Microsoft Office Suite (essential)
• CEC accreditation
• Solid knowledge of AS3000 –AS3008- AS4777.1 – AS5033
• Solid knowledge of CEC guide lines
• Solid knowledge of DNSPs requirements
Other Key Skills to be Considered
• PV modelling tools/software (Pvsyst, Helioscope, Homer, Orkestra).
• PowerCAD.
• Off-Grid system experience.
