About the Role:
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you'll play a vital role in the relocation of surface infrastructure assets. Reporting to the Project Manager, your responsibilities include overseeing the relocation of a high voltage power line and substation, as well as ensuring the electrification of a processing plant aligns with project timelines. From testing and commissioning to breakdown recovery, you'll manage all aspects of the assets to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Key duties:
- Develop and execute high voltage switching programs, isolations, and permits.
- Maintain and test HV and LV switchgear, cabling, and transformers.
- Conduct protection relay secondary injection and testing.
- Diagnose faults and lead recovery efforts.
- Uphold safety standards and drive project success within budget constraints.
- Organising and controlling project elements including the ongoing reporting of project progress
- Liaising with external, suppliers and internal company stakeholders
- Finding efficient and effective solutions for problems as they arise on a project
Education, Skills & Experience:
- Background in heavy industry, electrical power lines, and processing plants.
- Academic qualifications in Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to foster a positive, high-performing work culture.
- Well-developed communication skills - both verbal and written
- High attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills.
