Your new role
The expectation of this position is to conduct initial reviews of upcoming projects by reviewing drawings (both civil and electrical) and carrying out site inspections to determine underground and overhead conflicts with existing services, including arranging potholing onsite and compiling results prior to handover to the civil supervisor. The candidate will be required to represent Council by managing electrical contractors engaged to carry out works within a project as well as providing advice to develop contract specifications. In addition, the candidate would be expected to develop, mentor and supervise electrical crews to deliver roadside lighting, communication and traffic signal works.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience working with local authorities such as Councils, state government
Experience working with service/utility providers, including Energex processes and approval requirements
Preferably Energex accredited, or an ability to obtain
Experience supervising electricians
Exposure to civil works in Brownfield sites (working around existing infrastructure) and typical construction methodologies
Understanding of other utilities providers (APA Gas, comms)
Capable of interpreting civil and electrical drawings and determining underground and overhead conflicts with existing services
Organising service locators and reviewing pothole reports
Contract specification development and reviews
Liaising with stakeholders including Engineers, Project managers, Construction Supervisors, WHS officers
