Tomago Aluminium is currently seeking a highly experienced Electrical Tech Advisor to join our Casting Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Casting Maintenance Superintendent this challenging position will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further develop your career and work alongside experienced industry professionals in a safe, dynamic and outcome focused environment.
We are looking for a proactive Electrical Technician with industry experience and skills to provide valuable maintenance support and technical advice to the Cast Products Maintenance Department.
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate examples of having performed improvements in their previous roles as well as a history of fault finding and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and manage opportunities to minimise the risk of electrical injury
- Identify and manage opportunities for equipment reliability
- Audit and maintain compliance to electrical safety and technical standards
- Measure and analyse equipment failures and determine and implement corrective actions
- Develop and improve maintenance strategy and utilise failure analysis processes to ensure continuous improvement
- Audit and maintain equipment strategies and work methods to ensure equipment reliability
- Coach and train maintenance personnel in reliability systems and problem solving techniques
- Perform and document risk assessments for electrical work completed in department
- Manage small improvement and maintenance projects within department
- Manage business risk from equipment obsolescence
- Keep up to date on changes in Australian Standards for electrical equipment
Your willingness to get hands on in a heavy manufacturing environment will be complemented by the following:
- Electrical Trade Certificate
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering is desirable
- Qualified Electrical Supervisors Licence
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in the areas of electrical safety, equipment maintenance requirements and technical standards
- Experience in a reliability focused role
- Experience in investigation and reporting of electrical failures and incidents
- Experience with Control Logix5000 PLC’s and FactoryTalk Asset centre
- Experience with Citect SCADA systems highly desirable
- Combustion/instrumentation experience desirable.
- Well-developed fault finding, analysis and resolution skills
- Commitment to quality outcomes with a strong focus on safety
- Experience in SAP desirable
- Six Sigma/ Lean Training desirable
