As an Electrical Fitter, you will be installing electrical control systems and assembling electrical components and appliances. You could also be maintaining electrical motors, switching gear and heating equipment or servicing automated production processes. You may also be involved in programming the electronic equipment that controls machinery.
Main tasks:
- Switchboard building.
- Read electrical and mechanical diagrams, drawings or specifications to determine job requirements.
- Install electrical and electronic control systems and insulated cables.
- Connect electrical equipment to power supplies.
- Emergency repair work.
- Investigating power supply problems
- Fault finding
- OK1 Repairs.
- Service / Customer assistance.
- Business admin.
- Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
- Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components.
- Keep records of production quantities and time.
- Report on issues, malfunction or defective parts.
- Test and Tagging.
- Stock ordering and stock control.

Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
- QLD Electrical fitter Mechanic License
- Construction white card
- Current full first Aid
Knowledge and Experience:
- Switchboard building in an industrial / commercial situation.
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial / commercial systems.
- Read electrical schematics.
- 1/3 phase motors.
- Current electrical standards.
- High level knowledge of OH&S Standards.
