The Autism Association is one of Australia’s largest For-Purpose Specialist Autism Service Providers, providing a range of services to individuals of all ages. We are inspired every day to make a difference in the lives of people with Autism and are deeply committed to assisting them to achieve the life and opportunities they choose.
Our Employment Services program is the only Autism Specialist Disability Employment Service (DES) in Australia. Our focus is to assist eligible job seekers with Autism to obtain and maintain open employment in the community, with over 300 individuals currently using the service.
About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a fixed term full-time Employment Consultant – Marketing, to join our Employment Services team.
This role is responsible for empowering and motivating our job seekers on their employment pathway to success, with a focus on building relationships with employers and breaking down employment barriers.
The successful applicant will possess high-level communication skills and dedication to the rights of people with disability. In this role, you will:
- Assist job seekers to locate and secure suitable jobs
- Build relationships with local employers to create suitable and sustainable employment opportunities
- Promote Employment Services to potential employers
- Maintain awareness of current labour market trends and programs
- Ascertain the skills, abilities and interests of job seekers, prepare resumes and develop job plans
- Deliver a high quality, individualised service to our job seekers, building their employable skills and employers whilst adhering to strict guidelines and compliance requirements
- Complete relevant administrative requirements including maintaining employer data, required records and job search activities
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be familiar employment challenges faced by people with a disability. You will also have:
