ORGANISATION POSITION
The Employment Coordinator will report directly to the General Manager and is accountable to our Management Committee and the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT) as per their funding guidelines and reporting requirements.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Employment Coordinator will assist job seekers (16 – 65 years old) to prepare for entry and/or re-entry into the workforce, gain employment, overcome barriers to employment and find and maintain suitable and sustainable employment and/or training.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cater to eligible job seekers accessing the Program at many differing levels of job readiness
- Motivate, encourage, advocate and assist clients to move into sustainable employment by way of group or individual interventions
- Provide job search assistance and education
- Liaise with employers and provide job match and job placement services
- Provide post placement support for clients
- Tailor a case plan to suit the participant which will take into account their personal circumstances and makes allowances for their barriers to maintaining sustainable employment, training or further education
- Provide a suite of activities designed to equip participants with the confidence and job seeking skills required by local labour market needs
- Conduct an initial skills audit to identify needs and gaps to obtaining employment
- Negotiate and implement an individualized supported case management approach from intake to exit
- Encourage participants to continue with further education and/or training either through school or suitable Registered Training Organisations
- Maintain accurate client records, progress reports and DESBT required reportables
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5 years experience in supporting and working with job seekers
- A full QLD driver’s license
- A clean national police check

- The position is paid at 5.3 SCHADS Employment Award
- The position comes with the ability to salary sacrifice and a company vehicle
- The present contract is up to and including 31 January 2025 with the option to extend (dependent on funding)
