Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Employment Officer in Broome. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting job seekers in finding employment opportunities, providing guidance on resume writing and interview preparation, and developing relationships with local employers.

Responsibilities:
- Using a strengths-based assessment approach to coach the job seeker to develop and navigate a career pathway which is documented in a Job Plan.
- Supporting the development and implementation of pre-employment strategies, delivered through a flexible case management model, that focus on achieving both social outcomes and sustainable employment.
- As a requirement of this position, there will be regular contact with vulnerable persons, including people under the age of 18 or persons with a disability.
- Demonstrate a personal understanding of responsive ways of working with Aboriginal Clients, Staff and Communities.
Integrated Case Management
• Encouraging and facilitating case conferencing of job seekers with difficult circumstances.
• Support with the use of Self-help facilities, including reporting requirements.
• Ensure job seekers are effectively engaged, with culturally responsive ‘strengths based’ assessments undertaken which focus on ‘employability’ functions.
Service Delivery
• Managing electronic records of job seekers. Including appointments, case notes, job plans, goals, and other relevant information.
• Support the job seeker to understand and manage Points Reporting Period.
• Ensure all assessment and intervention tools are relevant and current.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to job seekers during their post-placement support phase.
Training, Skilling and Activities
• Support Early School Leavers to meet mutual obligations in line with delivery guidelines.
• Support job seekers to identify opportunities in line with guidelines, that meets mutual obligations and aligns with individual goals.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with Indigenous Australians and organisations and a demonstrated understanding of the social, economic and environmental factors impacting on local (rural and remote) communities.
- The ability to offer innovative case management services that understand and address complex barriers faced by disadvantaged job seekers.
- Identifying employment options that align with current labour market trends and determining ways to enhance skills and training aligned with employment goals.
Prefferred Qualifications:
• Certificate IV in Employment Services.
• Experience in working with clients with complex needs, such as people with a disability, drug and alcohol dependency, homelessness, domestic violence and psychological disorders.
Other Requirements:
- A current C class motor vehicle license.
- Ability to engage in regular travel (by road and air) inclusive of short stays away from home.
- National Police Check
- Working With Childrens Card
