Skills & Experience
- A minimum Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
- Current and valid WA HR Class Drivers Licence
- A minimum of 1 year experience working in mining sites.
- Experience in repairing and rebuilding diesel engines.
- Experience in scheduled maintenance of diesel engines
- Experience in renewable energy field.
- Minimum of 2 years post trade experience working as team leadership or working in a similar role, preferably on Mine Sites.
- A minimum of 3 years experience Servicing and diagnostics experience gained in either heavy vehicle, mining, heavy construction, materials handling or similar heavy industry.
- A minimum of 3 year with Servicing and diagnostics experience, gained working with engine diagnostic, rebuild and repair, diagnosing and rectifying fieldbus circuits in mobile and stationary plant and equipment.
- Cert IV in Management/ Leadership Training (Preferred)
- Ability to mentor and lead a team of Mechanic.
- Evaluate the quality of work of team members and provide feedback to Management for reviews
- Resolving issues between team members and elevating concerns to line manager and or HR as required
- Assist, guide and mentor & training apprentices, mechanical team & trade assistance sharing your knowledge and provide hands on assistance as required.
- Assist in work planning, scheduling and resource allocation with a focus on the weekly maintenance plan.
- Undertake planned and ADHOC inspections on the condition of UON products as required.
- Travel away from home to site or stay at the Perth base Yard as per work needs.
- Installation and commissioning of UON products in workshop/ Yard and WA mine sites.
- Predictive and reactive service, maintenance and repair of UON and client equipment as required.
- Complete general maintenance, repairs and component change outs on a variety of surface mining equipment.
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts of the power generation equipment by trouble shooting and provide professional advice as required
- Mechanically modifying equipment sold by UON to meet customer specifications.
- Assembly of equipment sold or owned by UON, including pumps and power generation equipment.
- Reassembling diesel engines and parts after being repaired.
- Repair and rebuild UON assets as required to Company specifications.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with clients during on-site works.
- Maintain a safe and clean workplace (HSE compliant)
- Active involvement/ participation on the company’s continuous improvement
