The Role
The Town of Port Hedland is currently seeking a Leading HandParks & Gardens who will work closely with the Coordinator Parks & Gardens to ensure the Town's Parks and Open Space assets are effectively maintained throughout the community. Encompassing a number of ovals, neighbourhood parks, sports grounds, as well as various community facilities, landscaped areas and entry statements. This position requires a motivated individual who thrives in a fast paced environment and takes pride in achieving operational programs to ensure our community and town benefit from our green assets.
The position is responsible for leading the Parks & Gardens team in collaboration with other Leading Hands, in areas such as general horticulture, landscaping and turf management, therefore previous supervisory experience within the industry is a must along with basic computer skills.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capitals works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- MR Drivers Licence

- First Aid qualification
